I don’t even know what to say to that. It’s currently on the BBC World News front page. Not the lead story (whew), but still…
Some days it pays to read the news. At least the UK news.
So I get in to work. I’ve spent some time chatting with my co-worker J. I open my office door and flip on the lights.
REEE REEEE REEE REEE REEE REEE appears to be coming out of the corner of my office.
What. The. F*CK is that? It’s very loud. It’s obnoxious.
It sounds like a fire alarm.
I turned on the fire alarm with my LIGHTS!
Ok, I didn’t, but DOWN TO THE SECOND it was in sync.
So PBS evacuated to the courtyard. Slowly. I swear some people just are like, well, so, do we go?
And we’re heading there when ring. See, when I’m logged into the line the calls follow me to my cell. So the fire alarm is going off, and I’m logged in…. and someone is calling me.
What is wrong with them?!
Turns out it was someone from the other building, where no one needed to flee for their very lives.
In the end, we learn that some construction guys tripped the alarm. Wouldn’t have been all that bad, except that it was already like 90 and 60% humidity. Yech.
Oh. And the call? Yeah, that entire building’s network went out.
9 to 9:10 was fun. Really.
Oh… My… God…
Stu now looks like my boss’ twin, and I promise that I gave him an appropriately hard time about it.

Today is the day for funny stuff apparently. Another good site. Any and all Star Wars fans with a sense of humor ought to read some of this.

I saw this bumper sticker on the way home and had to get a shot. Unfortunately it’s hard to do that while moving, so I put the text of what it says beneath the best picture I could get.
I didn’t title the thing, there’s no real name so that’s what it’s going by on the ‘net.
It amuses me, and was pointed out by a friend of mine last night. What makes this more amusing is that it made MSNBC today (and apparently some morning show - ABC?).
