More West Coast Pictures!

Oregon is done now, with the bit before Gold Beach finally viewable (Devil’s Churn and Cape Perpetua). Actually Devil’s Churn is at/part of Cape Perpetua, but whatever. Gold Beach actually has one new picture and they were all re-exported after changing the color space. To me the colors look richer, thus the reason I uploaded them again.

Next up, though probably not today, is the end of the trip - California. It may be the end of the trip but California has almost as many photos as Washington and Oregon combined.

Holy Crap!

I posted pictures!

For those of you who are waiting, no, these aren’t the second half of the images from my trip to the West Coast. Those are coming though, since I’ve figured out how to get Lightroom without giving them an arm and a leg (legally!).

But I had to write something from my iPhone. That’s all :)

Because There were Questions

Since there was some concern that my Cobalt SS wasn’t, well, cobalt I thought this would explain…

Now if only I could figure out how to roll down the Cobalt’s windows….

If anyone wants to buy me Adobe Lightroom, I wouldn’t complain :)

On Learning to Drive Manual

Friday, June 1st, 2007

You know, I’ve always wanted to learn to drive a stick shift. I figure it’s a good skill to have. I mean, who knows when you’ll be stuck in the Andes with only a local beater that might have 3 functioning gears? … It could happen. Don’t look at me like that, you know you’ve lain there, sleepless, wondering about what you’d do. And if you haven’t, you will now. Hey, I’m not fear-mongering, it’s just good to be prepared.

So anyway, back to the salient point here (in case you’d forgotten or gotten lost [not in the Andes]), learning to drive a manual. I’m a bit taken aback by how few people seem to be willing to let me beat up… I mean, practice with… their car. That’s ok though, really, the best way to learn is like learning a language - immersion.

My New Hyundai Accent

Meet my new Hyundai Accent SE. Yay! Sure, it may be under $15k but compared to my now-gone Echo, it’s a palace of luxury. The Taj Mahal (but probably without the minarets). Actually, is the Taj Mahal a palace of luxury? Hmmm… I don’t think so. Ok, so not the Taj Mahal then, but somewhere else. Make it like a Choose Your Own Adventure, but no going back a couple pages if you end up dead!

Alternate view of my Accent
No, that blur in the upper right is not my hand - I had to practically crawl into the bushes to get far enough away to take the picture.

This is supposed to be proof that it’s a manual, but that window’s awfully reflective ;)

Proof it's a manual

I think I’ve had too long a day.

[Edit] To avoid confusion, I got this Wednesday night.

Whew

Gallery restored. Tomorrow I’ll pull all my pics from Dallas and start getting things uploaded.

[Edit] If it happens to feel slow at first, that’s because some locally cached info was wiped out (like pre-generated thumbnail images).

No Pics Yet

Wednesday, May 23rd, 2007

Sorry, no pictures yet. I needed the break today and didn’t get around to restoring the backups that I needed to restore (this’ll teach me to delete things before I’m sure what they are…).

In Dallas (subtitle: Whoops!)

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

So I was going to post pictures and such from Dallas (here on work), but unfortunately I’m an idiot and broke the gallery a few days ago.

sigh

I won’t be able to fix it until I get home (need to restore some backups), so I’ll e-mail out some of the better pictures every once and awhile. I know, it’s a terrible disappointment to everyone.
