For the Gamers Out There
Wednesday, May 31st, 2006It’s entertaining stuff if you’re a gamer. The initial quality of the drawings…. well, it gets significantly better. My brother ought to appreciate it

Go on, laugh it’s ok
I realize that there are possibly some people who won’t get it all, but that’s ok. You’re free to simply scratch your head and move on.
For the rest of you, I didn’t include the image directly because there should be attribution and stuff. Like, credit where credit is due?
I like the cryptic titles. They make me feel good. Heh.
I discovered, yesterday, that there was/is an airshow going on at Andrews Airfoce Base this weekend, so I resolved to go this morning (both the resolve and the leaving occurred this morning).
So that was very cool and fun and there are many pictures to put up. I don’t think they’ll be up today, but they will be soon. Video too.
[Edit]
Yeah, yeah. It’s coming! I’m preparing for a party (and doing a series of Mac hardware upgrades at work) so just haven’t had time
Here’s a peek, though (changed it to the smaller w/ link to the larger):
First, the bad (because it predicates the good and the funny).
For some reason Amazon decided to ship something to me at work via FedEx Home Delivery. If anyone isn’t familiar with Home Delivery, they’ll deliver after 6 and on Saturdays (designed, as it were, for home deliveries…). Well that’s not a good way to ship something a to business, since they tend to be closed at those points. I only learned about the first delivery attempt because the driver called and said “What’s the suite number?” Yeah, that pretty quickly alerted me that it wasn’t going to go well.
So, of course, it didn’t and they tried to deliver it after PBS was closed (assuming they even managed to get to the right spot!) I called up and said “Look, there’s no way that it’s going to get delivered tomorrow. Can you just hold it and I’ll pick it up?” Which seemed to go over fine, the woman said yes and put the message in, etc.
Except, apparently it never got there. I got up this morning and checked the tracking (to make sure that it said “Held for pickup”) and it said “On Truck”. I won’t write what I said.
So I figured I’d just head down there and say “Well, there’s a package that’s supposed to be held” and let things play out from there.
Now the good (and the luck; which isn’t in the title). I got there before the trucks actually left (wooo for getting up at regular hours on Saturday) and they pulled the box. Granted it took them 50 minutes, but still, they pulled it off the loaded truck. Nice.
Now, the funny. As I’m walking back into my apartment, a FedEx Home Delivery van drove by.
Obviously it wouldn’t have had my box on there since my box was going to an address over in Crystal City, but it was perfect none-the-less.
Oh these are good. They were pointed out on Wil Wheaton’s site. I don’t want to ruin anything for you, so just take a look.
Trust me, they are worth seeing.
I bought a 19″ Samsung LCD (not suitable for professional photographers, but good for me!) and it arrived.
I’ve got it plugged in at work. Definitely good so far. I’ll be putting it through its paces tonight. Definitely will have to tweak its brightness ’cause it is BRIGHT.
So can someone tell me how it makes sense that a package leaving Edison, NJ should go through Richmond, VA to get to Arlington, VA?
