New Pictures!

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

Yup, I’ve put some new pictures up and a new album of pictures (some of which appear in other albums as well).

Here’s a picture from the storm that I mentioned. I’ll let you check out the gallery to see the new album and other pictures.

Bugger This!

Thursday, June 30th, 2005

Do I know what “this” is? Nope. But I’m sure it applies to someone, somewhere at this very second in time. Right when you’re reading this, and the seconds both before and after.

I’m staring at that picture of Dubbya from the BBC as I write this and it still disturbs me.

Speaking of that moron, I mean President, he’s shown up at the top of the BBC’s World News page for the last few days. That bothers me.

At least I got to have a good storm last night. I will need to post the video and/or pictures that I took. There was an awful lot of rain. Wonder if I can set the exposure time manually, would help get some brighter pictures at night. Looks like I have something to play with ;)

By the way, is it Friday yet? I feel this is a valid question since I’ve thought it was Friday every single day this week all day long. Which sucks every time you realize that it’s not.

And Some People Take Him Seriously..?

Friday, June 24th, 2005

Ok, please, how can anyone take that face seriously? He either looks like he’s about to cry, or constipated, or maybe just trying to put on some “tough guy” face. He looks ridiculous.

Oooh, and what a ridiculous quote, too!

Somewhere…

Somewhere there’s an entry about Lewis Black’s show. It just hasn’t been written yet :)

I’ve been preoccupied with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and another top-secret project.

Lewis Black in Da House!

I’m a wee bit excited ’cause I’m gonna go see Lewis Black tonight.

If you don’t know who Lewis Black is (OR don’t find him funny), then there is something wrong with you :)

Jealous

So my sister’s apartment costs less than mine and is bigger (though she says it isn’t).

Ok, I’m not that jealous. I live right outside DC.

WOOOOOO

So I get in to work. I’ve spent some time chatting with my co-worker J. I open my office door and flip on the lights.

REEE REEEE REEE REEE REEE REEE appears to be coming out of the corner of my office.

What. The. F*CK is that? It’s very loud. It’s obnoxious.

It sounds like a fire alarm.

I turned on the fire alarm with my LIGHTS!

Ok, I didn’t, but DOWN TO THE SECOND it was in sync.

So PBS evacuated to the courtyard. Slowly. I swear some people just are like, well, so, do we go?

And we’re heading there when ring. See, when I’m logged into the line the calls follow me to my cell. So the fire alarm is going off, and I’m logged in…. and someone is calling me.

What is wrong with them?!

Turns out it was someone from the other building, where no one needed to flee for their very lives.

In the end, we learn that some construction guys tripped the alarm. Wouldn’t have been all that bad, except that it was already like 90 and 60% humidity. Yech.

Oh. And the call? Yeah, that entire building’s network went out.

9 to 9:10 was fun. Really.

Ouch

Geez, that’s unusual.

Wow, disturbing for the home owner and sad for the man.

I’m also rather impressed with the choice of quotes from the woman. Either she’s not one to over-react, or the BBC uses better quotes.

Whoooweee!

That was a storm.

A Storm.avi Careful, it’s 5.5 megabytes and I don’t have tons of upstream bandwidth so it might take a little while.

I tried to capture some of it, but alas, I don’t think it got the thunder very well. And, ironically, it’s actually easier to make out detail from the camera’s viewfinder because it displays the picture a little strangely when the picture is very dark. Had I been about 3 seconds earlier on the record button, you would have been treated to a massive roll of thunder that made me jump.

*shrug* Oh well :)
